![]() ![]() The demo for Lies of P covers the first two chapters of the game containing three boss fights and plenty of locations to explore. READ MORE – Mortal Kombat 1 Gameplay Reveal is Gloriously Violent Since we aren’t getting Bloodborne 2 anytime soon or at all, you can try out a demo of the game right now on consoles and PC. As most players have already pointed out, it seems to lift a lot of inspiration from Bloodborne, the 2015 action-RPG developed by From Software, right down to its aesthetic and tone. Lies of P puts a gothic spin on the classic story of Pinocchio, where players get to encounter familiar characters from the tale in a different light. A demo was also shadow-dropped which is currently available on all platforms. The game was originally aiming for an August release but developers Neowiz Games and Round 8 Studio stated that it needed a bit more time in development to add the finishing touches and polishing. ![]() It’s also coming to Xbox Game Pass.Lies of P, the upcoming spin on the tale of Pinocchio inspired by Bloodborne, received an official release date of 19 September 2023 during last night’s Summer Game Fest 2023 Opening Showcase. Lies of P will be available on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X. Lies of P will come out on September 19, 2023. Be sure to check out our Summer Games Fest 2023 roundup if you want to learn more about what else is coming this year and beyond. Exciting as it is, this was far from the only game we learnt more about at Summer Games fest. That’s everything we know on the Lies of P release date, the platforms its coming to, and its story and gameplay details. We’ve seen a significant variety in boss design too, which suggests players will be kept on their toes throughout the experience. While its impossible to know all the specifics at the moment, boss fights are certain to be a big part of this game, going by the trailers. There’s good reason to expect then that players will be able to craft different builds and adapt their playstyles throughout the game. We also now know that the game will include a skill system that allows you to swap out weaponry and combat enhancements that integrate directly into the automaton’s body. We’ve seen from gameplay trailers that Pinocchio will be able to wield a large arsenal of different weapons, varying from swords and shovels to cannons. Like all souls-like games, Lies of P looks to have a well refined combat system, balanced against punishing difficulty and a gameplay doctrine that encourages progress through mistakes and learning to overcome adversity. We also know that lying will be a big mechanic in this game, so it’s reasonable to speculate that it could have multiple endings depending on the choices you make. You’ll battle through mutated monstrosities, raving robots, and plenty of bosses on your way to reaching your goals. The world of Lies of P is filled with unimaginable monsters, untrustworthy figures, and plenty of untold horrors that have changed the once lively place into a Dark Souls inspired living hell, glued together only by a web of lies. Neo-gothic architecture looms in a depraved, 19th century setting of gore. This is a far darker retelling of the classic fairytale though, and taking inspiration from Bloodborne, the fallen city of Krat where you’ll find yourself is sick with madness, bloodlust and death. ![]() Your only possession is a note attached to your person, telling you to find your creator, Geppetto. You’ll awaken as Pinocchio, a living automaton in a world full of similar creatures and technology. But with the additional trailers and insight from publisher Neowiz and developer Round8, we now have a reasonably solid picture of the premise. Lies of P is an upcoming souls-like where you play as Pinocchio that much we’ve known since its first announcement. Narratively, it looks like the game is set to be a bit more story explicit than the From Software titles that created the genre. With the release set for September though, there’s a strong chance we’ll see more of the game before it drops on the 19th. ![]()
